PROGRAM CONCEPT

Generally, Imbestigador is an investigative show or in-depth stories that focus mainly on the problems of the country, their aim is to solve it.Government focuses mainly on worldwide problems that enable them not to see the “reality” presented in the society. Even though there are branches of government that are appointed to focus on these like National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and designated police officers honestly, they cannot. The goal of Imbestigador is to help or cooperate with the authorities to resolve public issues in their own way. They have given the power to conduct operations same as in higher state.

Before starting to discuss the content of the program, let’s define Public Affairs. Public Affairs is broadcasting industry term refers to radio or television programs which focuses on matters of politics and public policy. Knowing that Imbestigador is a Public Affairs program, their aim is to present and aid anomalies in the government and society. Reality speaking, Imbestigador does not have the power to fight against higher sectors, so they just focus on the lower ones particularly in Barangays and somehow up to Mayor lines. Majority of the content of the program is to present social problems that are obviously out-of-line on our followed norms. It began with very casual crime scene reports, which continues to be the usual focus. Various crimes were featured including kidnapping, slavery, child abuse, and various drug related crimes.

Initially, the concept of the program is to disperse civilians serve as their eyes in the field. They have their so-called “asset” for this. Their purpose is to work with the authorities and same with Imbestigador pretending that they are just an ordinary civilian but the truth is, they are the one who will spy together with their hidden cameras and negotiate to those they suspected to be as leaders/organizations of a certain syndicate or unwanted manners of a job.

PROGRAM SEQUENCE

In this program, sequencing or segmenting doesn’t occur. Knowing that they are public affairs news program, their aim is to publish several videos or scoop about certain problems; starting from the investigation, planning and solving/ambush proper. In one whole episode, they publish at least three to four different problems.

PROGRAM APPEAL

Entrapment operations done by the program are supported by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Commission on Human Rights (CHR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Curiosity – in which the viewers the are interested on what is happening on their environment or country that may affect their lives or way of living also.

The purpose of having “asset” is to enable them to investigate, gather evidence (written, oral, video) and negotiate with the suspected guilty of a crime without giving them the idea that they are under an investigative proper. Together with the asset, he/she will be held of a hidden camera for video evidence. In conducting these kinds of operation, it is very important that you will a proof to present in everyone especially that Imbestigador is a Public Affairs Program. Another one is their so-called “Marked Money”. In performing these operations, majority of gathering evidence is to provide money having a secret mark within it serving that there is a transaction or closed deal happened between the suspect and the asset.

Once the initial investigation occurs and proven by the asset, they will start to plan for their tactics and strategies on how will they “caught them in action” if possible, then the asset will give go-signal to the authorities for an ambush scenario.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Knowing that Imbestigador is a Public Affairs News Program that aims to open the eyes of everyone, we highly recommend it to everyone for them to watch, even the younger ones. Many of the news indicated in the program are crimes mostly committed in roads, concern in public health, people’s rights and so forth. Through watching this program, we are able to know the reality that surrounds us and we have the capacity to be aware and have great cautiousness.

Every program in the television never fails to make or publish warnings before starting them. Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is the one responsible for coming up into warnings. As we notice, there is a quick reminder regarding theme, language, sex, horror or drugs under ratings of general patronage, parental guidance or strong parental guidance that will guide the adults to supervise younger ones in watching.

The program is just composed of one host which is Mike Enriquez, he narrates, and even perform in the problem situation together with the authorities; the production that search story and conducts with the story line to be published in the program; and the authorities that has the power to legally conduct operations about the crime presented. Through these, the program will be able to come up as a whole.

is an investigative show that tackles anomalies and inconsistencies in the Philippine Government and society. It is a long-running evening show of the station every Saturday for about 14 years already. It is under a Public Affairs Genre that aims to solve certain crimes that the government may not be focused on.
