Resurfacing of Paseo Miramar, Pacific Palisades

Alondra Drive - water erosion damage

road erosion near 767 Paseo Miramar. Road is slipping.

Dead end needs to be blocked off properly. Hikers have been hitting our parked cars when turning around

No turning radius

This sign should be a "dead end" as the street ends a 100 feet after.

Cracking on substandard road - Resolano

Damaged road - severe indent

Near 633 Resolano Drive

Erosion has lead this hill to 'slide' down, causing utility boxes to slide with it.

At 600 Paseo Miramar there are two drains but the water is not going into them as the water runs differently down the hill.

We need better water runoffs to help prevent further damage and future repairs.

Due to water damage, Paseo seems no longer stable.

Road seems to be slipping.

Debris on road -

land owners (and Parks Dept) not in compliance with brush clearance?

Overgrown trees:

Leading trucks and other large vehicles to swerve into the lane of oncoming traffic - huge safety hazard.

Erosion

Massive bumps in road.

Safety hazard

for

home owners and drivers

Constant running of ground water - flooding during heavy rains - pubic health and safety hazard.

Trees need to be trimmed for safety reasons. Major trucks drive on "wrong" side of the road to pass under trees - dangerous.

Paseo Miramar major issues

B) Signs

F) Potholes/Uneven Road

The road has many pot holes, uneven stretches (could be road erosion due to constant water flow or tree roots growing underneath asphalt). Some portions (one in particular around 640 Resolano and near 471 Paseo Miramar) have eroded so far, that the road bed is “slipping”.

In addition, due to the last few years of major house constructions, the road has further deteriorated under the heavy loads of massive trucks (maybe we should post weight limits?) as well as the ground water running down the road.

Signs: Many of the no parking and no stopping signs are faded or missing. Also, around some of the most

dangerous corners there should be additional no parking signs

as the road is too

narrow to park and

doesn't

have enough

visibility to see

oncoming traffic.

C) Curb Painting

Paseo Miramar is in desperate need of repair. This presentation will show details of what needs to be repaired on our hill. Since the street has been out of public use for a long time there are some major issues on our road. The photos you are about to see will highlight some of them.

Since Paseo Miramar is the gateway for one of the most popular hikes in all of Los Angeles, safety of the public is of utmost concern. There are many blind spots and very dangerous curves, therefore the upkeep of this road is necessary.

We look forward to working with you on fixing these major problems for the safety of our community.

Best - The MHOA.

The curb, for example in front of this entrance, should be painted red to prevent cars parking there as homeowners can't enter or exit their home. Often on weekends homeowners can’t get out of their houses, as hikers park directly in front of their doors.

Likewise, no parking should be allowed in blind curves - public safety hazard

G) Vegetation

E) Water erosion

Grass, roots and other forms of

nature are growing in the road

and no one is cutting it

cleaning it, or repairing it.

Trees are overgrown and block large trucks to drive in their lane. This can be very dangerous especially in blind curves.

D) Parking Issues

Because of heavy rains and constant

water drainage

Paseo Miramar is eroding

Parking issues: as we have hundreds if not thousands of hikers each month, we have lots of illegal parking on our hill all the time.

We would like to discuss, a solution with the city.

Hikers park in red zones,

no parking zones

(sometimes even

directly in front of the

hiking trail, or on

private property.)
