Food chains are more complex because of seasonal diet changes and multiple links. For example, not all bugs eat plants, many eat other insects. Fish eat a variety of bugs, depending on the season, and some fish species feed on plant matter. The pelican, like many wetland birds, eats a variety of fish and bugs. This complex interdependence of species is called a food web.

Dominant Animals-Biotic Factors

  • The dominant animals in Wasur are the parrot, the wallaby, southern cassoway, blue crowned pigeon, freshwater crocodile, and saltwater crocodile.

Wetlands and Wasur

A wetland is an area consisting of swamps or marshes. Wetlands are places where there is shallow water or very soggy soil at least part of the time. Most peoplethink of three major wetland groups: swamps, marshes, and bogs. It’s easy to tell the difference between the first two. Swamps have mostly trees or shrubs. And marshes have mostly grassy plants. Bogs are spongy, mossy wetlands where plants pile up faster than they can rot away. All those plants form thick layers of peat.Without wetlands, thousands of species of animals and plants would become extinct. And floods and pollution would be much worse.

Food Chain

In wasur

This food chain diagram shows which animals are producers, consumers, and decomposers.

Climate, Soil, and Rainfall

  • The soil in a wetland is characterized by the botanical origins, which are mosses, herbaceous material, and wood and leaf litter.
  • About 70% of the land is savanna and the other 30% is wetland.
  • In the vast wetland of Wasur is the Rawa Biru Lake. Which attracts most of the areas migrated birds.

The food chain in a wetland always starts with the plants and works to the smaller animals then finally to the bigger animals.

Climate, Soil, and Rainfall

  • The average amount of rainfall in a wetland is 1750 mm-2000 mm per year. Wetlands refer to areas where water is interrupted by small islands of land and a large number of plants.
  • The annual temperature in a wetland is 76 degrees fahrenheit and 30 degrees fahrenheit in the winter.
