How to Build a Simple DC Generator

Using your play dough stand up the battery having the loops of the paper clips up.

Place the straight end of the paper clips on the positive and negative side of the battery, and secure it both needs with a rubber band.

Step 2

Take your paper clips and unfold them into a straight line. Then at one end on both paper clips fold them until it can hold the copper wire.

Place copper wire tips in the loops of the paper clips and place the magnet on the battery. The copper wire should start spinning.

Step 1

Take your thumb and wrap the copper wiring around it leaving the ends sticking out in a straight line. It should be longer than the battery. When you have completed that take copper wiring off of your thumb.

Copper Wire

Magnet

D-size battery

Large rubber band

2 Paper clips

Black permanet marker
