What is needed for a

planet to support

human life?

Short Answer

For a planet to be able to support human

life it would need to be almost then exact

same as Earth.

To be more specific:

- the same basic elements in the same relative concentrations

- the same mass and radius as Earth

- the same rotation as the Earth

- a sun with the same temperature and luminosity as our sun

- an orbit that is the same distance from its sun as Earth

- a large moon

- the same geological activity

- the same basic climates as Earth

Why?

We only exist because Earth is in a perfect balance with the solar system and the sun. If just one thing change by a tiny bit there would be no possiblity of human life. It is incredible how many things need to be absolutely perfect for human life to exist.

Conclusion

Habitable zone

The habitable zone is the region around a star with sufficient atmospheric pressure to maintian water on its surface.

Planets we have found that may support life.

Overall, it would be very hard for

a planet to meet the criteria to

support life but in an infinite universe

anythings possible.

This is the newly found planet Kepler-22b. Scientists are saying it might be possible for human life to exist on it.

They are saying

this because it fits

into the habitable

zone which means

it is relatively the

same as earth.
