Identification and Explanation

What is the current education climate at school? Is there a signature pedagogy - something that defines what teaching and learning look like at St Bernard. Reading writing and numeracy programs etc. If there is something in place - is it yielding the results we are aiming for?

Is there a clearly articulated vision based on research, community consultation and staff input?

-Drilling down to the individual student

-Using NAPLAN for learning rather than just an assessment of learning - NAPLAN Action Plan

-Through some pre-testing - gaps can be identified and then incorporated into the curriculum plan by the teachers - we use the Contemporary Practice Resource Model developed in the SE Region

- Supported to 'walk-through's' with targeted questions e.g. What are you learning? How are you doing? How do you know? How can you improve? Where do you go for help?

Anecdotal -the tone in the school is positive and supportive

The plans and processes I have outlined are transferable because they follow current DET strategic plans, key messages from the DG as well as characteristics of High Potential Leadership - Future Leaders

Also, my ability to successfully work with each key stakeholder in ensuring school improvement means that every action is supported by evidence and communicated clearly.
