- The practice of slavery in pre-Civil war U.S.A society is deemed correct in that time period. Now it is deemed inhuman
- The practice of apartheid in South Africa is wrong nowadays. However it was seen as correct before
Relativism
- Believing that truth and wrong is always changing between societies and that there is no universal truth
- That we can not judge whether it is right or wrong because it was a different time with different people

Realism
- Killing should not be tolerated no matter the reason
- Thieves should be punished no matter the size of the crime
Believes that there is always a moral truth to any situation at any time
