At first she is a "slut" because she slept with her husbands boss (Baba). She decided to have a son with Baba and then decides to run off with a group of singers and dancers after Hassan was born this was worst than being dead. She did this in order to save the name and reputation of Baba and herself. After being gone for the rest of Hassan's life she decides to come back to Kabul while the war was going on. She met Hassan once again when she was an older woman, her and Hassan became very close but she died a bit later on. She redeemed herself and cleared up what and why things happened the way they did.
Some of the choices that Sanaubar had decided to make can be seen as either for the best, or simply completly selfish.
~She had made the decision herself to have slept with other men even though she had a husband.
~She had a child with a man who wasn't hers to begin with.
~She left her son five days after he was born to travel as a singer/dancer.
~She decided to come back after a few years of being gone and reunited with Hassan
Positive Experiences:
You may say that what motivated her is selfish of her and she should of never done those terrible things. First she slept with one man, and had a baby with him. She did this because her husband was sertile and she wanted kids. She then left so that the name of Baba and herself names and reputaions wouldnt be ruined. She did this so Baba's reputation wouldnt be ruined mostly. She decided to come back when she was older so she can clear her name with Hassan, he forgave her and they became really close.
Negative Experiences :
Sanuaubar is said to have brilliant green eyes, an impish (or 'naughty') face, and hips that, "sent men to reveries of infidelity."
However, having a beautiful appperance doesn't always mean the person has a beautiful personality as well. Sanaubar was well known as a woman who slept with any man she desired because of her looks. What she had done with men was considered as much of a disgrace then, as it is now; possibly more. She was a married woman no less but it was an arranged marriage.
Once her son Hassan was born, Sanaubar was said to have abandoned both him an her husband to travel with a group of singers and dancers; something most of her people believed to be worse than being dead.
In the novel The Kite Runner, Sanaubar is described as a very attractive Shi'a Muslim/Hazara whos' choices caused her to leave the man she loved and her newborn to be left in the care of a man she never wanted to marry. She is considered a, "slut" due to her dishonorable reputation with men. However, it should be looked upon that Sanaubar was an unhappy woman being forced into marrying someone she did not choose.
