Critical Message

Interdependence

  • The critical message Jesus showed by healing the blind man was that we go through life blind to God`s grace and Jesus is the only one who can help us to regain our vision of God`s grace and mercy.

Definition: reliance on others/ lives are affected by the lives of countless other people

How does interdependence play a role in the story?

  • Interdependence plays a role in the story through the blind man because he first relied on the townspeople to bring him to Jesus.
  • After he was presented before Jesus, man relied on Jesus to give him sight.
  • The blind man was relying on countless others who affected his life.

  • Definition: independence consisting of self-determination/ relying on ourselves not others

What is the role of autonomy in the story?

  • In the story, autonomy is shown through the past of the blind man. Before he knew Jesus, he relied on himself. After the townspeople and Jesus helped him he became interdependent.

How was the blind man empowered by Christ?

Mulala is from Mingora, Pakistan. She was born to a small family with a caring mother and father on July 12, 1997. As a young girl, she loved education and wanted to pursue a life of knowledge.

At the time Mulala was about 8, the Taliban came into her village and attacked all of the young girls' schools. They denied the girls the right. She saw this issue as very disrespec tful and was ready to take asave many girls having a similar problem.

Summary of Story

She was initially terrified of these death threats,decided saving thousands of young girls' education was more important than her own life. She began to do things like speak to the United Nations, made a school for Syrian refugees and created a twitter trend to exemplified girls' education through the twitter trend, #booksnobullets

At the age of 14, Mulala ben to blog to the BBC about the Taliban's cruel control under a fake name. The people of her village found out it was her, and she recieved a death threat from the Taliban.

Jesus and the disciples traveled to Bethsaida. People came up to Jesus with a blind man asking him to give him sight. Jesus took the blind man outside of the city where no one could see them. He spit and placed his over the blind man`s eyes and asked if the man could see. The man said he could see people but they looked like trees. Jesus placed his hands on the man`s eyes a second time and asked the same question. The man`s eyes were opened and he could see clearly again.

Her work essentially helped the world by opening the eyes of millions to the cruelty to girls' education and bringing many to the cause in saving girls' lives

Her Message

Mulala is trying to show that being an autonomous person can eventually achieve goals and help others in your cause. She is trying to show that interdependence is important and she can be the light guiding other people (young girls) to a happier life following their dreams. Mulala has risked her life to save the lives of many and is a teacher who should be a worls-renound role model. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 as she saved so many, being described as, "a brave and gentle advocate of peace who throughout the simple act of going to school became a global teacher.
