Working conditions may involve exposure to various microorganisms, potential for sticks from sharp instruments, blades, or needles; standing for long periods of time, and potential for back pain due to moving patients.

My Schedule:

  • Orientation is Monday - Friday from 7AM to 4PM for a year
  • After orientation, the schedule is four, ten hour rotating shifts, working every other weekend, working some holidays, and being on call at least twice a month.

Establish and maintain a sterile field and assist the surgeon with instrumentation during surgical procedures.

  • Function outside the sterile field.
  • Advocate and ensure the delivery of safe patient care for an optimal delivery outcome.
  • Assess the patient, document patient care, and communicate with the care providers necessary for patient care.
