Thanks for listening to our presentation about how pollution affects the human population and we hope you learned something new!
Made by: Ryan, Zara, John and Yoyo
- Diseases such as skin problems, cancer and problems in the human respiratory system are caused by land pollution.
- 40 percent of deaths in the world are caused by pollution.
- Land pollution is the destruction of the earth’s land surfaces, often directly or indirectly as a result of man’s activities and their misuse of land resources such as mining, construction, industrialization and overcrowded landfills
Good afternoon Class 8-6! Today Zara, Ryan, John and I will be talking to you about different types of pollution in the world and how they affect the human pollution. We hope you enjoy!
- Water pollution occurs in lakes, streams, rivers and oceans
- Pollution can come from sewage, industrial waste, agricultural runoff, and oil spills.
- Waste is usually dumped in water intentionally and sometimes accidentally
- Polluted water destroys aquatic life, and results in ecosystems that can no longer support full biological diversity
- Water pollution can destroy fishing industries because the fish becomes contaminated - overfishing
- Pollution is the act of introducing a harmful substance into the environment causing a very harmful change.
- 40% of deaths are caused by air, land and water pollution
- Hundreds and millions tons of toxic waste are being produced each year and affects a lot of clean air.
- 7 million deaths due to air pollution
- 82% of the world’s energy is produced by burning fossil fuels which also affects clean air
-There are many different types of pollution
-Some of the types of pollution are light, air, noise, water, nutrient and land pollution
-The three most harmful types of pollution are air, water and land pollution
- Pollution is affecting the human population rapidly and is killing as many as 2.4 million people each year.
- When the toxic chemicals are released in the air they settle into the plants and water sources. Animals then eat the contaminated plants and drink the water, then when we eat the animals the poison travels up the food chain which is us.
- We need cleaner air and water so that everyone in the world can have a healthier life and so that less people die each year.
- Scientists seem to suggest that the cause of climate change is too many people, and that a growing population means growing greenhouse gas emissions, which means that as the population is growing so is the pollution.
