After the robbery he would create a cache to store anything connecting him to the crime. When the heat died down he would return to retrieve the loot.

As soon as a bank was chosen, he would case the bank the woods for a few days, noting the employees habits, then on a Friday night before closing, he would strike. Always donning a gruesome face mask typically from a horror movie.

In the end

It wasn’t greed, or a mistake that ended Gugasian career it was just bad luck. A couple of teenage boys happen to stumble upon his stash in the woods on April fools’ day 2001. The police hand over all the evidence from the stash to the FBI who instantly realize that it belonged to the Friday Night Bank Robber as he had been dubbed. With this new evidence in hand, they were able to build a better profile, and after help from residents it eventually led to Gugasian’s arrest.

Conclusion

Carl Gugasian

Carl Gugasian is the greatest bank robber in US history having robbed more than 50 banks over a 30-year period, for a total of more than $2 million.

Gugasian was meticulous in the way he planned and executed his robberies. He would scout for a bank in a certain location by studying street maps in the library, specifically searching for banks in small towns, close to wooded areas, on the other side where there was a road with easy access to a freeway.
