The oldest fossils of Homo erectus dates back 1.8 million years ago

The youngest fossils of this species were date back 300 thousand years ago

The Homo erectus is identified by the size of their skull. It looks football shaped from the side.

Why is this important?

The reason that it took Homo Erectus so long to be able to migrate out of Africa is because they needed to be able to build up the physical and mental capabilities in order to survive in different evironments

The farthest place that fossils of Homo Erectus have been found is the island of Java in Indonesia
