What is modern day slavery?

  • some camps are so bad that 20% or more of their prisoners are from torture and abuse each year
  • 95% of the salaries of many slaves in North Korea went directly to the North Korean government
  • North Koreans had to work 16 hours per day on average
  • 200,000 men, women, and children are held in these slave-labor camps

Modern day slavery is when someone is tricked or being forced into a situation they didn't agree to, it's for others profit. Victims are forced to work under the threat of violence for little or no pay. They are prevented from walking away.
