1. During the Reconstruction period, the lives of Southerners were altered for better or worse, depending on who was in control of the “plan”. For each of the following scenarios, explain which plan you would have been most likely to thrive under. Explain why your choice would have been “better” for you.

You are a former member of the Tennessee regiment in the Civil War. You once owned a substantial amount of land and were fairly well off for the time. Which plan would have been the best for you to live under?
If I had to choose which plan for me to live under it would have to be johnson's plan. That's because johnson's plan did not punish the confederates and the blacks had restricted rights, called Black Codes.

At this time period and in my position the Johnson plan would benefit me the most, because I an a white man and used to be part of the Confederates. The Johnson plan would let me keep my land and I would not have to be punished for my actions in the war. Also the Black Codes would put restrictions on the blacks rights. .
