Loving L.A.

Los Angeles was home for me until I was seven and it has been a welcoming, open-armed home to me now. My acting lessons have been such a dream and being a able to blog about them has enhanced my experience tremendously. Laurel Springs has been everything I has hoped for and more and I really hope that no matter where my life takes me, I take this experience with me. Thank you for everything.

Whilst in L.A I went to a lot of movies and theater productions. Most of the theater production were not very good, however the two that were good were excellent. The movies this year haven't been stellar, but they have been entertaining and fun.

The South by Southwest Film Festival

This year I also traveled for the first time to Austin, Texas to take part in the South by Southwest Film Festival. The SXSW consisted of long, sometimes boring hours of walking around, but also of interesting and intriguing hours of listening to movie makers and watching their movies. Though I had to take a week off from my Wednesday acting classes, the experience as a whole was very worth it.

Wednesdays.

Every Wednesday from 10:00 AM til 3:00 PM I had acting lessons in West Hollywood at the Hudson theater with a man by the name of Harry Mastrogeorge. This man is one of the most brilliant people I have ever encountered and am very fortunate to have been ale to work with him. These Wednesday meeting had been my guilty pleasure for the past 6 months. I have gotten to work on three scenes with three different partners and though the scenes are tough, they are so exciting. So far, I have played a paranoid schizophrenic, a temperamental murder-mystery-loving teenager, and a love-sick New Yorker.

My Trip to Los Angeles and Acting

I moved to Los Angeles in February of 2012 and only shortly after, began my year at Laurel Springs and at my acting studio. Because I was only scheduled to be in L.A for 6 months, I found it best to be home schooled and so I started up with Laurel Springs. One of the requirements at laurel springs was to take an arts credit and because this is a homeschooling system, my arts credit works like such: I partake in an activity and then report back about it in the form of a blog. My activity of choice was my acting lessons with Harry Mastrogeorge.

The move.
