A curious and very satisfactory fact is that portuguese are recycling more the percentage of garbage collection has increase from 16% to 36%.
Until 2020 Portugal wants to increase this percentage into 50%.
In 2015, every single portuguese had made per year 500 quilos of trash
Nature is telling us that if you don't respect the environment then you are living in with artificial needs and consumerism that is destroying the very condictions we need to survive.

In Our City
The city council of Vila Franca de Xira had made some projects to help the planet like:
"Conversas com o Ambiente"-A project with the association Quercus where people discuss themes like energy efficiency at home, , household waste management, mobility and sustainable consumption.
Where the goal is to make the central area of Póvoa the first eco-community of the county.
In addition to the public sessions, there will be a direct monitoring of 30 families and the rationalization they make of energy, water and household waste.
