Requirements

1. At least 5 different images where bokeh is apparent and intentional.

2. Risk-taking! Make your own shape filters - yeah!

Check out the lensbaby and apply those filters!

Experiment! Different lights, different subjects!

3. Standard blog post:

Initial images, peer review/self-reflection, final images, written summary.

BOKEH!

Bokeh

Japanese word for "blur".

Bokeh is not the blur itself, but is the QUALITY of the "out of focus" parts of a photo.

Usually refers to the light "spots" in the background. You can change the shape of your aperture to create different shapes (stars, hearts, etc).

You need lights!

Aperture is the key!

Make your own Bokeh "filters"

You will want to be close to your subject, and have lights in the background. You will want to use a tripod, because you will need a slower shutter speed for shooting in the dark.

The larger your aperture, the greater the blur (shallow depth of field).

1.2 - 2.8

You need to check out a fixed lens that can create a very shallow depth of field. This lens should open up to 1.8 or 2.8.
