Uses of esters
Method
Write equations using structural formulae to show the ester made when:
(i) methanol reacts with propanoic acid
(ii) ethanol reacts with propanoic acid.

Add 1ml of acid to 1ml of alcohol
Get 2 drops of concentrated H2SO4
Add to a water bath at boiling temperature and leave
Polyesters are also useful as materials and plastic drinks bottles can be recycled to make polyester fleeces.
