Odysseus

Penelope

Odysseus leaves his wife an son to go fight in the Trojan war. Once the war is over he takes a journey to return home. His journey home last for 10 years and along the way he makes connections with people that help him make his way back home.

Mother of Telemachus. Wife of Odysseus. a daughter of Icarius of Sparta and the nymph Periboea. during her husband’s long absence after the Trojan War, many chieftains of Ithaca and nearby islands become her suitors.

Telemachus

Circe

Wife of Telemachus. Daughter-in-law of Odysseus and Penelope. daughter of Helios, the sun god, and of the ocean nymph Perse. The Greek hero Odysseus visited her island, Aeaea, with his companions, whom she changed into swine. But Odysseus, protected by the herb moly (a gift from Hermes), compelled her to restore them to their original shape. He stayed with her for one year before resuming his journey.

Son of Odysseus and Penelope. When Telemachus reached manhood, he visited Pylos and Sparta in search of his wandering father. Telemachus married Circe (or Calypso) after Odysseus’ death.

Poseidon

God of the sea. As the suitors are Odysseus’s mortal antagonists, Poseidon is his divine antagonist. He despises Odysseus for blinding his son, the Cyclops Polyphemus, and constantly hampers his journey home. Ironically, Poseidon is the patron of the seafaring Phaeacians, who ultimately help to return Odysseus to Ithaca.

Father of Athena( he gave birth to her. Swallowed his wife). Brothers Poseidon, and Hades. Received His lightning bolt from the cyclops's. Father of Hephaestus (wife at the time was his sister Hera). Father of Hermes (from one of his lovers), Can not even name all of his kids, Athena was born from his forehead. Athena is his favorite child.Zeus is occasionally depicted as weighing men’s fates in his scales. He sometimes helps Odysseus or permits Athena to do the same.

the daughter of the Titan Atlas (or Oceanus or Nereus), a nymph of the mythical island of Ogygia. In Homer’s Odyssey, Book V (also Books I and VII), she entertained the Greek hero Odysseus for seven years, but she could not overcome his longing for home even by promising him immortality. At last the god Hermes was sent by Zeus, the king of the gods, to ask her to release Odysseus. According to Hesiod’s Theogony, she bore Odysseus twin sons, Nausithous and Nauseous.

Menelaus

A kyklops (cyclops) giant of Sikelia (Sicily) (southern Italy). He was a son of Poseidon and the sea-nymph Thoosa. the most famous of the Cyclopes. Polyphemus loved Galatea, a Sicilian Nereid, and killed her lover Acis. When the Greek hero Odysseus was cast ashore on the coast of Sicily, he fell into the hands of Polyphemus, who shut him up with 12 of his companions in his cave and blocked the entrance with an enormous rock. Odysseus at length succeeded in making Polyphemus drunk, blinded him by plunging a burning stake into his eye while he lay asleep, and, with six of his friends (the others having been devoured by Polyphemus), made his escape by clinging to the bellies of the sheep let out to pasture.

younger son of Atreus. the abduction of his wife, Helen, led to the Trojan War. Husband of helen. Brother of Agamemnon he was promised a place in Elysium after his death because he was married to a daughter of Zeus.

Daughter of Zeus. produced without a mother, so that she emerged full-grown from his forehead. There was an alternative story that Zeus swallowed Metis, the goddess of counsel, while she was pregnant with Athena, so that Athena finally emerged from Zeus. Being the favourite child of Zeus, she had great power. Athena assists Odysseus and Telemachus with divine powers throughout the epic, and she speaks up for them in the councils of the gods on Mount Olympus. She often appears in disguise as Mentor, an old friend of Odysseus.

Brother of Zeus and Poseidon. Greedy like his brother Poseidon. The Greeks decided to give him a new name. His came they called him was Plouton. His weapon is a pitchfork similar to poseidon's trident. He was married to Persephone, daughter of Demeter, whom Hades abducted and carried down to the Underworld.

, she was considered the most beautiful woman in the world. Her elopement with Prince Paris of Troy brought

about the Trojan War. she was abducted by Theseus. Wife of Menelaus and queen of Sparta. Helen’s abduction from Sparta by the Trojans sparked the Trojan War. Her beauty is without parallel, but she is criticized for giving in to her Trojan captors and thereby costing many Greek men their lives. She offers Telemachus assistance in his quest to find his father.

Son of Zeus. stole Apollo's cattle and then went back to his crib playing innocent. in the Odyssey, Odysseus was instructed by the god to chew a magic herb with which he would be able to avoid Circe's powers and not be transformed to animals like his companions; in the myth of Pandora, when the gods provided a trait to her, Hermes gave her the ability to lie and seduce with her words. Odysseus meets Hermes, who is in disguise. Hermes does two specific things that allow Odysseus to survive the meeting with Circe.First of all, Hermes gives Odysseus the molly plant. Hermes tells Odysseus exactly what to do after -- he tells Odysseus to threaten her and then to make sure that she swears to release his men before he is willing to sleep with her.

Achilles

One of the main characters in the Trojan War. He was also the protagonist of Homer’s epic, the Iliad. He was the son of Peleus, king of the Myrmidons, and Thetis, a nymph. Both Zeus and Poseidon were in love with his mom.

famous prophet of Apollo. Tiresias died by an arrow of god Apollo at the tainted spring Telphusa. His soul went to the first level of Hades, where he was visited by Odysseus and gave him advice on how to continue on his voyage to Ithaca.

Son of Zeus and Hera. His mother gave birth alone. Rummer is hera threw him from olympus because he was crippled. He fell into the ocean and was raised by Thetis and Eurynome. He was married to Aphrodite; after he learned his wife had an affair with her brother, Ares, he devised a plan with which he humiliated both lovers to the other gods.

two immortal and irresistible monsters who beset the narrow waters traversed by the hero Odysseus in his wanderings described in Homer’s Odyssey,

a creature half bird and half woman who lured sailors to destruction by the sweetness of her song. the Greek hero Odysseus, advised by the sorceress Circe, escaped the danger of their song by stopping the ears of his crew with wax so that they were deaf to the Sirens. Odysseus himself wanted to hear their song but had himself tied to the mast so that he would not be able to steer the ship off its course.

In The Odyssey, Aphrodite is one goddess responsible for starting the Trojan War which is a war that Odysseus tries to come home from for 10 years.
