The main theme is revovling around education and the disadvantages of war.
The setting of the book:
How does it relate to war?
Well it is during wartime and the main problem of education arises because people are being shipped of to war instead of attaining a proper education.
the story is most likely to have taken place in the UK as they used terms such as "Lord" and the college in use is Oxford.
How does the theme relate to education.
Because having a degree from oxford holds a very high importance they as mentioned in the book are many "suckers" to fall for their con.

The story is set during war.
As soldiers are not receiving education.A group of people set out to con them by pretending to be an Oxford college and giving them a degree.They provide them education by post and the examinations would be fakes tooBut what happens towards the end is that they got conned themselves by lord driver. This happens because Lord Driver is actually someone else he is not actually lord driver.In the end both the neice and Lord Drivers son agrees to con their older fauds so they knew they could outdo.
Is it possible to relate the story to our lives?

There are many con artists earning large sums of money out of our innocence who knows maybe there even among us.
some of us might feel that the entire set up of education is wrong as we deserve change and we have humans have evolved as well as moved on the system of education has been the same for almost 100 years.

- Elisabeth- Mr fennick's neice also training to be the bursar at the college.(bursar means a person who manages the financial affairs of a college
- Lord Driver- lord means a man of noble rank or high office as mentioned in the text he is part of a military family.
