Summary

Interpretation

Vocabulary

Objective

Jacob's Deception was relatively easy to comprehend. The vocabulary was simple, and the overall was short,

and straight to the point.

This story has us learn about why Rebekah decided to send Jacob away.

One day when Issac was old and blind, he instructed Esau to go catch some food and prepare a meal for him. He wanted Esau to do this so that he could give him his blessing. When Esau leaves, Rebekah helps Jacob deceive his father by preparing a separate meal and putting on Esau's clothes. When Jacob presents the meal to his father, Issac questions Jacob, but he feels his hairy hand, and smells his clothes. Issac give Jacob his blessing. When Esau returns, he is confused on what has happened. He figures out what Jacob has done and threatened to kill him. Rebekah then sends Jacob away to protect him.
