Complex Civilization

A complex civilization is a civilized place where there is doctors everywhere, police departments, places to buy or sell food, salons, malls, etc.

The U.S and Canada are both very complex Countries because they have almost everything you can think of.

Market Economies

A market economy is an economic system in which economic decisions and the pricing of goods and services are guided solely by the aggregate interactions of a country's individual citizens and businesses. There is little government intervention or central planning.

In a market economy you can buy or sell whatever item or good you want

Take this farmers market as and example because you can by or sell whatever you wan to sell/buy

Industrial & Mechanical Revolution

The Industrial Revolution is the name given the movement in which machines changed people's way of life as well as their methods of manufacture. About the time of the American Revolution, the people of England began to use machines to make cloth and steam engines to run the machines.

Now that machines were around, women did not have to worry so much about weaving the clothes because machinery could do all of that work

Most people appreciated that machines could

do most of the dirty work

Industrialized Countries

Literacy Rate

Third World Countries

Literacy rate refers to the percentage of people who are able to read and write vs those who are not. Literacy: The condition or quality of being literate, especially the ability to read and write.

An industrialized country, also commonly referred to as a developed country, is a sovereign state with a highly developed economy relative to other nations. Most commonly, the criteria used to evaluate a country's level of development is its gross domestic product (GDP) per capita. After theworld measured this we figured out the poorer countries or the third world countries

Third world countries are the specific countries that are very poor and are still stuck in the subsistence agriculture stage unlike the U.Swhich is a first world complex civilization country

Commercial Agriculture

A type of farming in which

the farmer(s) grow enough

food for lots and lots of people.

Most American kids can write because of schools

Most kids in the U.S

can read because

there are many schools

These are some

Third World Cu

Both are part of literacy rate

These are some industrialized countries

In wealthier countries like the U.S

there are lots of fields that are HUGE

and are used to make products that

are used to sell to the world

Urban & Rural Areas

In general, a rural area or countryside is a geographic area that is located outside towns and cities. ... Whatever is not urban is considered rural." Typical rural areas have a low population density and small settlements. Agricultural areas are commonly rural, though so are others such as forests

Subsistence Agriculture

An urban area is the region surrounding a city. Most inhabitants of urban areas have nonagricultural jobs. Urban areas are very developed, meaning there is a density of human structures such as houses, commercial buildings, roads, bridges, and railways. "Urban area" can refer to towns, cities, and suburbs

Hunting & Gathering

&

Subsistence agriculture is a type of farming in which farmers grow just enough for themselves and their families. People soon began to realize that they can grow plenty of more crops and have more animals so they can start selling them to other families for money.

Societies that rely primarily or exclusively on hunting wild animals, fishing, and gathering wild fruits, berries, nuts, and vegetables to support their diet. Until humans began to domesticate plants and animals about ten thousand years ago, all human societies were hunter-gatherers. Later on people realized to domesticate the animals by maybe fencing them in and grow their own crops by doing it in a specific way

In most rural areas there is plenty of open space for farming. There are usually not many people that live in this type of area.

In most urban areas, there are many buildings, roads, bridges and malls/stores... the population

is usually very high.

Back then, people Hunted

their food... they also made

skins out of it

In the stone age era people

would do almost anything for their food.

Most African families have to work all day just to feed their family.

In the poorer countries, families are

only able to provide food and crops

to their families

Domestication of Plants and Animals

Domestication is changing form and behavior of a species so that it can depend on people to survive. Since people now had their own animals they could now stay in the same place and grow food for their families

This is a picture of the difference between wild wheat and farmed/improved wheat

People may have dug water

holes to encourage wild cattle

to come drink. Gradually the

wild animals changed and

they depended on humans.
