Alternatives to oil

The Ultimate Solution

Steps we need to take

Wind Energy:

The Environmental effect of my solution

The majority of the global population must start to rely on other sources of energy instead of oil like wind energy

Countries around the world must also invest more on wind power as it is always available and has less effect on global warming compared to oil

To increase the price of oil to force other countries to invest in research for alternative energy sources

Thank you!

Wind Power requires a massive amount of land for the wind turbines to be built.

For the wind turbines to be built alot of habitats are going to be destroyed.

In the positive side the energy from wind power will have a much weaker effect on global warming compared to oil

Wind energy also reduces the amount of CO2 emitted. Wind farms reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the overall electrical grid on close to a 1:1 basis.

Steps taken locally and globally

The problem with oil

In Qatar research has been carried out about renewable energy. A grant of 400,000 pounds has been given by the university of Newcastle to do research about renewable energy as said by the Gulf Times.

In 2011Germany installed wind power turbines that were able to produce 29,075 MW; wind power produces about 7.7 percent of Germany’s total electrical power

The Energy Department in America invested in wind research and development projects, both on land and offshore, to advance technology innovations of sustainable power.

Oil is a major global problem as it has a huge participation on global warming which has a monumental impact it has a contribution of 65% on global warming.

Oil can't be our only source of energy as it is limited.

At the current production rates there is enough oil to last 53 years which can change. Scotland itself has 10 years left.

The Political effect of my solution

Some countries might not have the resources to build wind turbines like land therefore they might be forced to buy power from neighboring countries.

The resources to set up wind power energy can be very expensive. Research to start developing wind turbines is expensive as well.

Governments should also give subsidies to businesses or other organizations that plan to use wind turbines as their source of energy.

The Economic effect of the solution

Creates job opportunities. The US industry boasts 102,000 workers.

High cost for more innovative technology.

Wind energy is cost competitive with coal and natural gas. Moody’s Investor Services now estimates that the falling costs of wind power directly threatens coal power.

Why do we need this and the reason to show why my solution is the best

We need this because oil is a major threat to our environment

Oil is one of the biggest reasons for global warming and if we continue using it we will indeed kill our planet, our home

Solar energy is also an unreliable source of energy compared to wind as many places in the world like United Kingdom which don't have access to sunlight.

This solution is the best because it is much cheaper than oil and other types of energy as well as it has minimal effect on the environment . People don't know that oil is limited and it can be used up in the coming years therefore there needs to be a sustainable alternative which is wind power.
