Terrorism is different from forms of warfare because it is done on a personal basis and is done outside of any rule book. Typically whenever a country seeks revenge on another, they do so through organization of military and political advisers. When a terrorist group goes after a nation, it is because of their own personal vendetta, and is done without any awareness . People are sought out and innocent people die out of intent to kill without any beneficial purpose.
In this quilt I chose to choose five symbols in order to demonstrate the rebirth from the devastation of September 11, 2001. The first image shows the terrorist event with the burning explosion at the World Trade Center. The second image I chose is a pair of hands clasped to show America coming together to face the trauma. The third image is building blocks to show us trying to rebuild the United States, as the fourth image is the American flag waving proud as we come together. The last image is a tree to symbolize rebirth and renewal of America after 9/11.
