A player piano played music that was programmed on paper rolls with holes in them and you could also play it like a ¨normal¨ piano. In the mid 1920s player pianos began to disappear - mainly because the radio got more popular.

Nowadays

The phonograph was invented by Thomas Edison in 1877. It was a machine that allowed people to listen to music that was in records originally made of aluminium foil. The problem was,this records broke easily only allowing people to listen to them a few times. Thankfully,these changed. The music was later on wax cylinders which could hold longer recordings -the longest of four or five minutes - and people could listen to them a lot more since they weren't as easy to break as before.

The music played was usually Jazz

Walkman is a Sony brand tradename originally used for portable audio cassette players in the late 1970s.

In the 2010s, it is used to market Sony's portable

audio and video players as

well as a line of former Sony Ericsson

mobile phones.
