The set design is a school which we believe is used as the target audience is of high school age and they would therefore find it more relatable. There is also a house party which also targets the audience of teenagers and young adults.
The props used a clear advertisements of products - for example the tablet that Iggy purchases her outfit from.
The costumes and makeup are very trendy and colourful and cool - again to fit in with the teenage theme.
The lighting is red at one point to represent the flirtation and lust of teenagers.
The main stereotypes used are of Iggy and Charlie XCX are how the represent the teenage school girls. Trendy outfits and very retro.
Also the teacher is very old and therefore not controlling of the class, he is dressed smart but dull and ends up having the class taken over by the popular girl. This is a stereotype of teachers having less authority and less ability to teach troubled students.
There are a lot of close ups of the artists which would be a requirement from the record label for advertisement reasons. There were also a lot of mid shots and long shots used. There was also a low angle of the cheerleaders to represent the stereotype that they are more important than others and are popular and to be admired.
Within Goodwin's Seven there is many characteristics within this music video. For example many close ups of Iggy are used which are demanded by the record label. Also the music video is an imitation of the film 'Clueless' which as one of Goodwin's Seven is references to film or other media. This shows in depth thought, production and direction of the video and although it seems like another normal video, it is very well planned.
