Language and Power

Snow holds executive and influential as president; Katniss lacks in power because of her role in society.

He blackmails her with personal information and expresses control over loved ones because he knows that's how he can gain power over her.

Culture and Context

Appearance is power too!

Again, it’s important to remember that Dystopian fictions tend to reflect the fears and anxieties of the cultural context from which they emerge

Snows outfit: all black formal suit has a negative connotation to it. it signifies death and other dark things

Katniss' outfit: dark brown, connotations of nature and down to earthness with a tainted innocence
