Brain Cells

  • Neurons are nerve cells that transmit nerve signals to and from the brain at up to 200 mph. The neuron consists of a cell body (or soma) with branching dendrites (signal receivers) and a projection called an axon, which conduct the nerve signal.

White blood cells

  • The purpose of the white blood cell is that it helps your immune system in fighting diseases and foreign invaders
  • Cells are made up of protein and organelles
  • All living things are made up of cells
  • A group of cells make up tissues and systems
  • The main purpose of a cell is to organize the body's organs and tissue

Blood Cells

  • The two different types of blood cells are white

  • The white blood cell lives in the immune

system and the red blood cell lives in the marrow of your bone

  • A cell that lives at top of your skin lives for about 30 days
  • A white blood cell lives for about 13 days
  • A red blood cell lives for about 120 days
  • A cell that lives in your liver lives for about 18 months

Red Blood Cell

  • The red blood cell helps spread oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body
  • It also helps take carbon dioxide to the lungs so it can be exhaled
