Temple Church

At the Temple Church, Langdon, Sophie, and Teabing hope to find more clues so they can open the codex. While they are here Silas breaks free and takes Teabing hostage, with the help of Remy (Teabing's manservant). Sophie and Langdon rush off to help save Teabing. As for the grail, they realize that the church isn't the right place to be looking, because it doesn't fit with the previous clues.

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey has much significance in the novel. Here lies the final clue that will allow them to open up the codex and retrieve the keystone, Sir Isaac Newton's tomb. It is also at Westminster Abbey that Langdon and Sophie realize they have been betrayed by someone they thought was their friend and they could trust.

The Depository Bank of Zurich houses important information, making it a significant location. Langdon and Sophie (main characters) go to the bank after discovering its address on the back of a clue left by Saunière. Once in the bank, Langdon and Sophie must use a key and an access code in order to open the vault. In the vault there is a box that holds a codex, and inside of that is the keystone to the holy grail. They narrowly escape the police with the help of the bank owner.

The Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum, in Paris, is a very important location in the novel. It is where the wheels start rolling for the entire book. Everything begins here when Langdon (one of the main characters) is brought in the to examine Saunière's body. He left behind many clues, which lead to a great treasure, the holy grail. The hunt begins in the Louvre.

Chateau Villette

Rosslyn Chapel

Chateau Villette is a very significant location. We are first introduced to a new, important character, Leigh Teabing, who owns the house. He is a grail enthusiast and is able to bring new information to the table. The house gives Sophie and Langdon a safe haven from the police for a short period of time. At the house, Teabing teaches Sophie all about the history of the grail. It is also at the Chateau Villette that the characters meet Silas, an albino monk, who is trying to steal the keystone from them. They are able to take out Silas and tie him up as hostage. A lot happens here making it such an important place in the novel.

Langdon and Sophie go to Rosslyn Chapel after reading the keystone. Langdon believes that this is the location of the grail. There are many shocking secrets revealed here, that were very unexpected. With the help of one these secrets Langdon is able to uncover the real location of the grail.
