Some of the achievements and inventions of the Chavin include a successful drainage system, domestication of llamas, the Temple Chavin de Huantar, cultivated crops such as maize, quinoa, and potatoes, developed an irrigation system for their crops, developed refined gold work, and establishing a trade network.
Priests were the highest class and were buried in traditional graves with burial goods. Lower class people were buried in shallow pits, with cotton clothing.
