pollution

A lot of water pollution comes from human activity. Some human causes include sewage, pesticides and fertilisers from farms, waste water and chemicals from factories, silt from construction sites, and rubbish from people littering. Fertilisers make water dirty or have high turbidity, producing high levels of phosphorous and nitrogen, that allows algae to grow. Algae grows at a fast rate when the water temperature is over 26 degrees.

Lake Albert

how people effect the lake

Lake Albert

The lake has had many many trees being cut down, but why ? most of the trees that were cut down at the lake were cut to make the lake bigger. Many willow trees were also cut down because they absorb too much water. Trees are really needed at the lake because there are many people and were there is people there is there is carbon dioxide. Trees are really important because they take in the carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

Tree's being cutting down

Lake Albert is an man made lake in the suburb of Lake Albert in Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, Australia. Covering 125 ha, the lake was built in the 1890s on what was known as Swampy Plains, and was later named after Prince Albert.

Boating

events and fundraisers

Lake Albert is a popular lake in Wagga and used by many boats. The wind force that the boats create start erosion. Erosion is the earths surface being worn down by wind or strong moving water. Soil erosion causes land and water pollution. When the soil flows into water bodies, it affects the quality of the water, which in turn can also block out sunlight and cause underwater plants to die and fishes to starve.

Lake Albert has being the location for many of wagga wagga's boat races, as well as skiing and wake boarding competitions. There is also a golf cores on the side of lake Albert with a stunning view of the lake. The lake also has many works around the lake for $5 to raise money for important things.

water supply

10% of the water on earth is from lakes and streams. From that 10% 70% is used for agriculture, 22% for industrial purposes and the final 8% is used for drinking, washing and watering plants.

Surrounded by parkland, the lake is a venue for water sports, fishing, walking and bird watching. The lake is home to the Boat Club and one of the town's two golf courses, Wagga Wagga Country Club, is situated on the western shore of the lake.
