1. Sports drinks are full of sugar. Constantly consuming drinks with this much sugar can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, and weight gain.

2. Another problem with sports drinks is most of them contain caffeine. Caffeine can be harmful to your nervous system if you use it for a long period of time.

Disadvantages of Energy Drinks

1. The caffeine content in energy drinks can be as high as 300 milligrams per serving. Caffeine at these levels could mainly cause headaches and a rapid heartbeat. Energy drinks can have as much caffeine three cans of cola.

2. Energy drinks can cause irregular heartbeats and can cause sudden cardiac death.
