CHARACTERS

The main character in the story was John

Wilkes Booth. He was a confederate actor who assassinated Abraham Lincoln. Some of the supporting characters are: Abraham Lincoln- a great president who fought for freedom, and all of John Wilkes Booth's accomplices who helped him assassinate the president as well as attempted assassinations on the Vice President and the Secretary of State.

RISING ACTION

The rising action in the story is

when Booth barely escapes out of the theater and out of Washington D.C. Booth had a horse behind the theater so he could ride off very quickly. It was close, but he made it out over a bridge that went into Maryland.

Plot

The climax of this story is when the police get

very close to catching John Wilkes Booth. He had been on the run with his accomplice David Herold. Booth was very happy that Herold made it out alive because he was very good at surviving.

The plot of this nonfiction story is to explain the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and to portray how John Wilkes Booth (Lincoln's killer) was caught when he went on the run. During this very interesting and suspenseful book it gives true facts about the day Lincoln was assassinated, John Wilkes Booth, John Wilkes Booth's accomplices, and the days the cops were searching for Booth.

RESOLUTION

The resolution in the story was when the

police finally caught Booth. Since his leg was already hurt when he jumped out of the president's box, he was easy to capture. He was killed soon after. Everyone rejoiced after Booth was captured and killed because they were in despair after the president was killed.

The conflict in the story is that John Wilkes Booth assassinated Abraham Lincoln in Ford's Theater. Lincoln was having a good time with his wife when he was shot in the back of the head by Booth. While that was happening some f Booth's accomplices failed in their assassinations.
