The story is about the old king of Denmark. His son Claudius killed him so he can be a king. But old king's other son Hamlet finds out and wants to kill Claudius.
When Hamlet's father died, his brother Claudius became the King of Denmark. After a few weeks, Claudius married Gertrude but Hamlet was very angry because she remarried very quickly.
Rising Action
One cold night on the walls of Elsinore Castle, a Hamlet's friend saw the ghost of Hamlet's father.The friend told Hamlet every thing he saw and then they both went up onto the castle's walls. It was midnight, the ghost appeared. The ghost told Hamlet that people say that snake killed him but it was Claudius. And told him to get revenge for him.
Hamlet was very angry. He wanted to kill Claudius but he was indecisive. He started behaving strangely and Claudius began to suspect Hamlet.
Complications
When Claudius suspected Hamlet for that he knew about their father, he sent Polonius, his chief minister to find out about Hamlet's strange behaviour.
Polonius knew that Hamlet loved his daughter Ophelia and sent her to look for Hamlet to find out about Hamlet's strange behaviour. When Ophelia tried to comfort Hamlet, became angry and told her to get out of his life.
Hamlet went to his mother's room.She looked sad. She said that he offended his father but Hamlet tells her that she offended him. That time Hamlet heard strange noise behind a curtain. He thought that was Claudius and took his sword and killed the person. But that person wasn't Claudius, that was Polonius.
Falling Action
The situation was getting worse in Elsinore. Claudius sent Hamlet to England. While Hamlet was there, Ophelia went mad and killed herself.
When Hamlet returned, he was more depressed because now his father and Ophelia were dead and Claudius was still alive.
Denouement

Climax
When Ophelia's brother, Laertes returned in Elsinore, he blamed Hamlet for his sister and father's dead and challenged him to a fight. Claudius wanted Hamlet to lose so he poisoned Laertes' sword. He also prepared a glass of poisoned wine to give to Hamlet if he won.
So the fight began. But during the fight, Hamlet's mother drank some of poisoned wine. Hamlet cut Laertes and then Laertes cut Hamlet. Laertes told Hamlet everything about Claudius' plan. Then Hamlet killed Claudius and then he died. Elsinore castle was dark, silent and empty.
