Medical Drugs: Drugs which serve a medical purpose - i.e. painkillers. They can be bought in chemists, shops etc. Stronger ones are also legal and prescribed by a doctor.
Legal Drugs: Caffeine, Alcohol, Tobacco (Nicotine) - all part of social life. There are age restrictions, but once at this age are available to all.
Illegal Drugs: Obvious severe side affects to the health of the people and to the society in which they are in.

3) What is the effect of each type of drug?
4) From the drugs listed on pg 33 can you provide an example of each type of drug?
In your books either, spider diagram or create a table. Think of a balanced argument (3-5 ideas each side) for these 3 statements:
1) Only a complete fool would take drugs
2) It is OK to take some drugs - as long as they are in moderation.
3) It is good to try drugs at least once just to say you have done it.
Please create a newspaper article on the handout - explaining the issues around Alcohol and why you think it should be banned.
