Piercings and Religions

Piercings have had a major infliction on many religions. Some Religions have piercings play major roles and some only have it in the back ground a little bit.

Now those piercings that have religious sacrament are used in the western culture as a way to define individuality in a group of people against the main stream.

American Indian Tribes

The labret was a traditional piercing among the Northwest Indians of North America, and the Tlingit of Southeast Alaska, the piercing was sign of status.
