~Arthur Shawcross was married four times with the latest marriage to Clara D. Neal on July 10, 1997 at the Sullivan County Correctional Facility.

~ Connected with his daughter & grandchildren who he did not know existed.

Post Vietnam

~ Bully in School

~ Behind by two grades by 8th grade and dropped out by 9th grade

~ Preoccupation with sex that was not limited to humans.

~ Violently sodomized by an unknown male.

~Married from 1964 to 1968 & marriage produced one child

~Drafted into the Army in 1968 & went to Vietnam. Returned in 1969, a man changed for the worst.

~ May 1972 - Murdered 10 YO Jake Blake

~ September 1972 - Murdered 8 YO Karen Ann Hill

~ Received a 25 Year Sentence for Karen Hill. He served 15 and was paroled in April 1987.

~ Due to public outcry he was "secretly" moved to Rochester.

Post Release

~ Killed 1st of 11 women on March 15, 1988.

~He waited a tad over a year before he starting killing again, which ran from July 1989 to December 1989.

~ He was arrested on January 5, 1990

~ Shawcross was spotted by helicopter at the dump site of veteran prostitute, June Cicero.

~ Took a piece of jewelry as a trophy from June Cicero and gave it to his girlfriend Clara, who the police threatened to implicate, which is when he caved and admitted to the murders.

~ His formal confession was 80 pages long

~Born: June 6, 1945 in Kittery, Maine

~Arthur moved to Watertown, NY at young age.

~He did not fit in with other children & craved attention.
