Being slightly plump was considered beautiful back then. She was a very beautiful woman.
Kaahumanu's father gave her in marriage when she was 10-years-old. The next 5 years were not awfully terrible for her. She and the king grew inseparable. Although he had married multiple times, she was still his favorite.
She abolished laws that degraded women.
There was a kapu placed on her head because she was promiscuous.
