What is drinking?

Liver disease

An alcoholic beverage is a drink which contains a substantial amount of the psychoactive drug ethanol (informally called alcohol), a depressant with potential for abuse and physical dependence.

Drinking alcohol plays an important social role in many cultures so most countries have laws regulating their production, sale, and consumption.

Why do people drink?

Alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD) refers to liver damage caused by excess alcohol intake. Symptoms include: yellowing of the eyes and skin (Jaundice), vomiting blood or passing blood in your stool.

Other than the brain, the liver is the most complex organ in the body. It is very resilient & is capable of regenerating itself. However, each time your liver filters alcohol, some of the liver cells die.
