It affects so many people around the world

The term news media refers to the groups that communicate information and news to people. Most Americans get their information about government from the news media (T.V) because it would be impossible to gather all the news themselves.

 This process has effects on the environment, culture, political systems, economic development, human’s health, and society’s around the world.

Media

Collective identity

Is the shared sense of belonging to a group (gender, age, culture ect...)

Collective Identity is the idea that through participating in social activities, individuals can gain a sense of belonging and in essence "identity" that transcends the individual.

Similar to the sweeping practice of globalization, universalization is connecting the world through the social aspects of culture.

Globalization:

Is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of the worldviews, products, ideas and other aspects of culture.

Identity:

The fact of being whom or what a person or thing is.

Media outlets have responded to the increasing reliance of Americans on television and the Internet by making the news even more readily available to people. There are three main types of news media: print media, broadcast media, and the Internet.

Increasing work intesification, as well as reducing job security and work/life balance in developed countries such as Canada.

 Identity shapes who you are as a person.

To create greater access to information and communication in underserved populations.

Universalization has been prominent in our society from the time that Christopher Columbus landed in America and brought Christianity and European culture to the North American First Nations people.

Without identity, there can be no reputation. In order for the history of one's actions and of others' assessments of those actions to become "reputation", a few things are necessary. We must be able to identify the person, we must be able to communicate, and we must have some form of memory.

Many countries around the world have established organizations for the promotion of the Communication technologies, because it is feared that less technologically advanced areas have a chance to catch up.

Universalization of popular culture:

Cultural activities or commercial products reflecting, suited to, or aimed at the tastes of the general masses of people.

Economic Globalization

Financial and industrial globalization is increasing substantially and is creating new opportunities for both industrialized and developing countries.

Communication and Technologies

Is an wide variety term that includes any communication device or application: radio, television, cellular phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on.

Individual identity:

is the concept you develop about yourself that evolves over the course of your life. This may include aspects of your life that you have no control over, such as where you grew up or the color of your skin, as well as choices you make in life, such as how you spend your time and what you believe.

Is the increasing economic integration and interdependence of national, regional and local economies across the world.

Globalization and Identity

Indiviidual identity can be seen as a system of cues and signals. The markers of identity - name, face, fingerprint, email address, DNA, etc. they have various degrees of reliability and with various costs.

Today

Many wars have been fought throughout history over forced religion conversions and the like. Maybe one day our world will be uni-cultural through the changes in universalization.

Social Globalization has an impact on the life and work of people, on their families, and their societies.

As agricultural modernization progressed, the ecology-farming linkage was often broken as ecological principles were ignored and/or overridden.

The agricultural structure and policies have led to this environmental crisis by favoring large farm size, specialized production, crop monocultures.

Homogenization

the act of making something homogeneous or uniform in composition.

Transnational media cultures explores the influence of global media industries and trends in media representations, identities and media consumption among communities, and within transnational comparative contexts.

Media Transnationals:

Is a process where by progressively fewer individuals or organizations control increasing shares of the mass media.

Social Globalization:

The process by which peoples lifestyles spread over global networks.

Cultures and languages and dying because the people who used to practice them are using mainstream languages such as English, and experiencing western culture.

Monoculture

The cultivation of a single crop in a given area.

Concerns and issues are often raised about the impacts of globalization on employment, working conditions, and social protection.
