Project 4: Teaching Students to Use Wix

• Research a well-know celebrity, author, historical figure, ect.
• With the information you gathered, create a website
• The website must have:
• 3 tabs
• 1 explaining why you choose the person
• 1 with interesting facts
• 1 with a video and explanation of the video
• 2 different backgrounds
• Be creative, colorful, and appealing

1. What do you use technology for?

I have gone on the internet, and watch a lot of Youtube videos. I play a lot of video games, such as Skylanders.

My sister and I make Youtube videos. We like to play dress up games on the internet.

2. What is your experience with Technology?

I use technology to look up a lot of Youtube videos, and I watch my tv shows online.

I have upload some videos to Youtube with my sister.

I like to go online and look up websites where you can paint or draw.

3. Have you ever used any technology in school?

Smartboard. The teacher I have goes up and lets everyone solve math problems. I like it because it helps me to understand math better.

Smartboard. The teacher lets us go up there and we have interactive story time. We are allowed to go up to the board and highlight a word we do not know, and the board sounds it out.

Smartboard. The teacher uses it to help us review for our reading tests.

4. What do you think a website it? Can you describe one?

I think it’s a place on the internet where you go to find stuff out.

A website is a place where you can type in anything and you find it. If you want to find a video you can go to Youtube.

Goals:

• Give the students a better grasp on different technological tools they can use

• Create awareness for different types of projects they can use this for

• Promote creativity and enhance design skills

• Promote research skills

• Create awareness for students, so they can understand different methods for using technology for school and other areas of their lives

1. What was the best part of this project?

I liked how you can add videos to a website.

I liked how you can change the fonts.

I also liked trying out the different fonts and changing the colors.

2. How would you use this for school?

I think we could use it for a book report.

I think I would show this to my teacher and see if we can do group projects in class.

I would use this to do a report about someone in history.

3. What did you learn about technology today?

There are more tools to use.

I can use technology to help me with my school projects.

I learned that I can use YouTube to do a school project.
