Transcript of All about Animal Experience International

Started in 2011 by a Veterinarian and a Volunteer Coordinator
AEI was co-founded by Dr. Heather Reid and Nora Livingstone to help animals around the globe by matching clients with animal-related volunteer opportunities. Through her 15+ years work as a wildlife veterinarian, Dr. Reid understands how valuable volunteer experiences are for students, and how they benefit animal organizations. Nora’s extensive experience as a volunteer coordinator and world traveler ensure the placements run smoothly and professionally.
Now is your change to live your dreams, travel the world and volunteer with animals.
To learn more about Animal Experience International and to see AEI’s placements, please visit our website. Applications are accepted on-line, or email us directly with your questions. We can’t wait to help you live your dreams and find the placement that will be perfect for you!

AEI visited organizations around the world
All of AEI’s Placement Partners have been personally visited by a member of AEI. They have traveled to Nepal, Australia, Costa Rica, Kenya, Mexico, Thailand and many other countries, to ensure AEI clients receive the best experience possible. AEI supported projects must be sustainable and conservation minded, culturally ethical, environmentally thoughtful, humane for the animals and safe for volunteers.
AEI put the planet and people first
Volunteering and traveling ethically is an important principle for AEI. To ensure everyone benefits from
Its activities, AEI partnered with groups like:
B Corp: AEI became a certified Benefit Corporation, meeting rigorous standards and ensuring that they put people and planet before profits.
Volunteer Card: All clients receive travel insurance and other benefits from this group that supports the important work of volunteers.
The Carbon Farmer: In-country travel of AEI’s clients is carbon balanced by the planting of trees in Canada’s boreal forest.
Donations: AEI assists its placement partners by providing a donation for each client that they host.
Schools and Professional Associations: AEI supports people who wish to expand their studies and Continuing Education.
Now YOU get to volunteer with AEI and the animal and conservation groups that need your help.
At AEI all the details are taken care of for you, so you can take care of the animals. What is included in each life-changing AEI experience? Your pick-up from the closest airport, accommodation, meals (unless otherwise specified), on-site training, AEI Travel Manual, a donation to the organization, Carbon credits to offset 3 tonnes of greenhouse gases, Travel insurance, Travel discounts, 24/7 emergency support, Fundraising mentorship and assistance, $10 credit in AEI’s Zazzle Store, and some placements even include extras such as excursions, bird watching trips and language lessons.
