ARANETA CENTER, CUBAO

CONCLUSION:

Araneta Center, Cubao may be supposed as a place where every human need is at the most convenient. It offers a variety of buildings and services from residential to commercial to office buildings and to recreational facilities and even transportation facilities. Everything is just around the corner. But this variety of land use poses an obvious threat to the whole center. One major problem is overcrowding. There are too many people, who come and go in Araneta that security is at risk; traffic congestions happen and parking lots aren’t enough to accommodate lots of people. These problems also lead to environmental concerns like pollution, heat build- up, and uncontrolled noise problems. Zoning is also a major concern because parking lots are scattered and unorganized; the presence of a wet market beside a shopping mall and arena poses maintenance problems and unpleasant odors and vistas and so on.
