Some instructors are also excited to see how acceleration may help academically-fatigued students complete their degree work at Hartnell in a more realistic timeframe
Placement Procedure
- At the 8/31/18 department meeting, we set the following placement procedures* to meet AB 705 guidelines:
- requires colleges to use high school transcript data, and it sets a standard for how community colleges use high school transcript data, in the placement of students into math and English courses,
- allows more students to enroll directly into college-level courses in which they can be successful.

Department voted to create a class that offers instruction in “workforce” contextualized reading and writing to serve certificate programs (while still introducing students to liberal arts).
