The term pop music originated in the 1920s but only became popular in the 50s when elvis presley rose to fame. Men were the only pop artists to be taken seriously up until a woman by the name madonna took over. Now, pop is a genre for people of all types. And madonna recently made a come back with her newest album, rebel heart.

There really is no target audience for Pop, because anyone can dance to it. If you can walk, you can dance! It has an easy dance style, and it very simple once you get used to it. Children as young as 3 dance to pop and adults as old as 60 also do too.

The term "Pop" comes from the word "popular" and refers to the fact that pop music/dance is very popular world-wide. "This genre of music is very commercialized and record companies use every kind of media tool available to them, such as television, movies, and the Internet" (meaning that companies use media to help them make a profit). If you go to a dance club you will hear a lot of Pop music because it is very easy to dance to. The development of Pop dance goes hand-in-hand with the advancement of popular industrialized music. Pop was first revealed in the mid 1900s and has been a hit ever since.

Pop doesn't have a set type of clothing. No matter what gender you are, anything for casual to punk will work. Some female artists perform in worn -out jeans, a simple T-Shirt and sneakers while others decide to wear a bold dress and high heels. Male artists may wear the same jeans and shirt combo or add on a leather jacket. As long as you can dance in it, it's fine.

One way to test this is to listen to a song once and then see how much of the song you remember! Most of the time you will remember the first few lines and the chorus! Which is why people find pop the easiest style of dance as they find the lyrics very catchy, and easy to remember, which helps them while they are doing they're dance.
