Personally this is my favorite movie of all time. I thought this movie was really well made, and it hit on some major events of that time. Over all i wouldn't consider this movie to be a "historical film" it was just set in an "historical" time priod. The movie was mostly based on Forrests life, and where he had to go to get to be the man he is today.
In the war scenes they could have put in more facts about what happened during the war, and they could have put more information about watergate and Nixon.
In my oppinion the filmmakers point,
was to show that you can accomplish anything with a poitive mind set. And not to let anything hold you back from your dream, even if you have a disability or if people don't beilieve in you or your dream. Also to be loyal, loving, genorous, and kind. And that " life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
The movie was very socialy, politically, and economically correct. It showed the war, water gate, the prostest ect. it was a very accurate movie based on that time.
In the movie forrest mom claims to
have named forrest after Civil war
hero, Nathan Bedford Forrest, this man actually wasn't a war hero, but was the person who founded the KKK during the 1800's
Forest Gump is a kind, sweet, loyal man.
He is a little slow-witted and was made
fun of as a child, accept by his childhood love/best friend Jenny. But Forest went on to do great
things with his life like as a college football star, fighting in Vietnam, becoming a world renoun ping-pong champion, and captaining a shrimp boat. Forest inspires people with his child-like opptimism.
