But usually the only highlighted feature

of this massive creature is his three heads,

which all share one body and neck

Sometimes, Cerberus is shown with the tail of a serpent, and claws of a lion

other times, he has a mane

of serpents as well

How could such a beast be made?

Cerberus

Cerberus only allows souls to enter Tartarus, but that does not mean none have gotten by him.

Orpheus once got past him after lulling him to sleep with his lyre

Hercules not only got past him, but brought him up to the world of the living as one of the labors given to him. (He was only given permisson to do so as long as he could over power Cerberus without using weapons.)

Also known as Kerberos,

the fearsome three headed guard dog stands watch at the gates of Tartarus. His duty is to allow all souls to enter the realm of the dead, but none to leave.
