In 2010, Twitter had 105 million users who tweets 55 times a day.Twitter became really popular in 2008 when presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain used Twitter to talk to voters.Twitter became popular in 2009 when people in Iran used it to protest there government's unfair elections.There is 316 million monthly active users.
Jack Dorsey is a programmer and a entrepreneur. He invented Twitter and was really successful.
Twitter was founded in San Francisco,CA {Headquarters}. But there's U.S offices and Twitter companies all over the world like in Atlanta,Boston,Detroit,Cincinnati,Miami, Seattle,even Chicago.And there's also international offices and Twitter companies in Amsterdam, Berlin,Brussels, Dublin, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Jakarta, London, Madrid, Melbourne, Mexico City, Mumbai, Paris, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, and Toronto.
Did Twitter make a lot of money ?
Well on Nov. 2013,Dorsey sold $45 on the fist day of trading then of the approximately it was 23.4 million shares made him a billionaire.Then he wanted to be on IPO for his other company ,Square.
Dorsey than went back to twitter and became CEO and while he was working he cut down to 8% for workforce. And since securities is filling,Twitter is in the LA times.
There's a site called a micro-blogging site and is founded just seven years ago, is worth more than $18bn. The micro-blogging firm raised its share price range by 25%, and they were eventually priced at $26 per share.
How did he come up with the idea?
Jack invented the dispatch software that became Twitter when he was 15 yrs.old.He sold his dispatch software to taxi drivers and delivery van companies so that these drivers could know where the drivers are.This dispatch software program left the the drivers talk to each other.He wanted to create a program that would let people talk on social media.

Jack Dorsey went to Bishop Dubourg High School. Then he went to Missouri University to learn Science and Technology. He also went to Polytechnic Institute of New York University.Then when he didn't complete his degree he dropped out of college in 2000, and moved to CA to be successful. After he dropped out of college he brought a computer company called Odeo to pitch the concept, Silicon Valley company wanted to share status with friends.Then few days later Biz Stone,former Odeo executive, Dorsey and Co-founder,Even Williams started a new company and called it Obvious. Few weeks later Dorsey created a site that had 140 characters known in Twitter parlance as ''tweets.''
Jack Dorsey's goal is to use a dispatch program to create an instant messaging service that everybody could communicate on an app. Also Twitter finally announced that co-founder Jack Dorsey will be its chief executive officer while also keeping his job at Square Inc., another company he co-founded.
