Background Of the Study

Today internet is very popular because its user friendly. As of now a lot of transactions are made through the use of internet. Things like buying things online, paying bills online and so much more. For years, people have depended on cellular phones to get information, schedules also the use of internet through wi-fi and 4G. Most company rely on technology to save time and resource, and computers are one of them.

In 1945 a small business established which underwent several changes and challenges, an amazing journey if you may, and through commitment, dedication, hardwork and the miracle of time, it blossomed 65 years later into what is known as the Guanzon Group of Companies. And part of it is Guanzon Mobitek which focus on cellphone and accessories.

Guanzon Mobitek is one of cellphone distributors in the country from Luzon, Vizayas and Mindanao. They also sell gadget accessory which is cheap from other stores and includes membership to the consumer. Guanzon Mobitek main office is located at Guanzon Bldg., Perez Blvd., Dagupan City, Pangasinan. And their Manila Office is located at 253 Roosevelt Ave. Quezon City

In terms of the system that the group was proposed there are some parts of the current system doesn’t work perfectly like in the database of the proposed system and some links are not functionally worked. In the security of the system the group still to improve it because if the system would be implemented there was a chances that would occur problems which would be used by the client of the proposed system and the next user of the system like the members. Meaning to say the group proposed system was not perfectly made because still we need to study how the group would improved their skills in using the database in that system.

The company operates by updating on what is needed to restock. But for some instances, some of the deliveries doesn’t arrive on time, their stocks are sometimes delivered on other branch/ is taken by somebody else and the staff can’t do anything about it. So to give solution to this problem, the group decided to propose a website that could only reserve units online with the users need to register with the designated username and password by the user branch.

Objective Of the Study

The group’s general objective for this study is to develop a System Inventory Database for Guanzon Mobitek to facilitate the Company’s inventory and records of stocks.

Specific Objectives:

• To provide a web-based inventory system.

• To create a webpage which views the terms and services of Guanzon Mobitek.

• To create a webpage that validates the accounts of each user.

• To enable administrators to check the availability of stocks on every branches.

• To create an administrator module with the following capabilities

o Allow updating of information in the site

o Allow the administrator to update price list and discounts if there are any changes

o View the costumer’s order and information.

o Automatically removes the customer’s order if not paid.

•To test and evaluate the System Inventory Database in terms of the following project criteria:

o Functionality

o Usability

o Reliability

o Performance

o Security

The system’s interface is mostly created with php and html language and also, with the help of different programs, such as Photoshop, notepad++, Dreamweaver which would enhance and developed the system to be user friendly and presentable.

The branch will receive the right stocks and will avoid misdelivered unit. The site will not get personal information from the user except for the name ,branch address and branch phone number for identification purpose only. The site also will provide an input of username and password from the user.

For the login page:

• Both username and password are case sensitive if not correctly inputted by the braches; the system will reload the login page.

• If the user failed to login three times the password of the user will be sent to his registered e-mail address for user verification.

For the Administrator page:

•The administrator will see the complaints and the suggestions of the customers to improve their services if needed.

•The administrator will manually delete the name of the unit if the unit already paid that includes the date and time the unit is bought.

The proposed project is important to the company because administrator can check availability of the product needed to restock. System Inventory Database is different with traditional ordering through calls because it is safer, faster, reliable and cheaper. Besides that, this concept can be used by other businesses so the transaction can be easier. The system will be beneficial for the company because the system will make a more organized and will give accurate information of the company’s services and will make it more attractive and interactive for the customers which will attract more people and future customers.

• The Group

o The system will be beneficial for the group because it will give knowledge and experience on how to create a system, and will make the group for the next thesis project realize and know the do’s and don’ts that the group will face, the sum of all the knowledge the group has learned will be implemented and will be used in making this system.

• Client

o For the Guanzon Mobitek, the system is a great tool for a marketing strategy because most of the businesses today uses the power of the internet to advertised which could attract more customers

• Future Researchers

o For the future researchers may be able to use the result of the study in further research similar to what the study is. The system is common because most of the businesses today uses website to advertise their company and attract more customers, the future researchers could use the groups study for some available information about the online reservation system and improve the system in the future.
